and offers many helpful hints and tips throughout!!
Objective
Education focused on the fundamentals and intricacies of thread. Detailed
explanations about thread material types, weight, terminology and guidance on
thread selection.
L002 Lightweight Legends 10:30-12:30
November 15
The WonderFil Lightweight Legends Thread Talk takes a deep dive into our most
well known and recognized threadlines from 60wt – 100wt threads. Exploring how
lightweight threads can be optimized for practical applications of everyday
sewing techniques, and also how it comes into play for decorative applications.
These techniques include free-motion quilting, machine and hand applique,
precision piecing, handwork, embroidery and more!
Objective
Gain a deep understanding of how and when lightweight threads can be utilized
to enhance one’s technique (FPP, EPP, piecing, quilting, appliqué, etc.) and overall
result.
L003 Heavyweight Heroes 10:30-12:30

The WonderFil Heavyweight Heroes thread talk takes a close look at threads that
typically provide a bolder look and can add emphasis into your projects. The
focus will be on threads heavier than 50 wt and their applications for practical
sewing and their WOW factor in decorative elements! Techniques covered in this
class include quilting, applique, embroidery, serging, handwork, thread painting,
and more!
Objective
Equip participants with an understanding of how and when heavyweight threads
can be chosen and utilized to highlight elements of your project. We will also
cover tool selection, techniques, applications and best practices. This lecture will
have a strong emphasis on threads thicker than 50wt.
L004 Mastering Metallic Threads 10:30-12:30

A Thread Talk dedicated to demystifying sewing with metallic threads! In this
lecture, learn about the properties of metallic thread as well as many helpful hints
and tips to make your sewing experience more successful. Bobbin thread choice,
needle choice, sewing mediums, tools and accessories impact thread delivery
into the machine.The Ultimate Thread Dispenser, WonderGuard, and Thread
Tamer will be discussed on how they allow the thread to have great sewability
Many samples will be shown including embroidery, quilting, free-standing lace,
thread painting,and handwork.
Objective
A deep dive into metallic threads with thorough explanations of how to succeed
while using it for various applications, as well as demos of tools that make the use
of metallic threads a breeze (TT, UTD, Wonderguard).
L005 Surface Design Threads 10:30-12:30

This comprehensive and insightful class examines the use of various thread
materials and weights to create images and purposeful design elements. Topics
include the intricacies of thread painting, such as using long and short stitches
to create seamless color shading within an area of design. The class also provides
an in-depth look at essential tools and accessories, such as the Rinse Away
Design Sheet, Ultimate Thread Dispenser, and various needles, to ensure optimal
results.
Objective
A close look at diverse thread lines that specialize in creating a visual impact and
textural art surfaces: Splendor, Polyfast, D-twist, Mirage, GlaMore and Accent.
