A note from Anne

May you live in interesting times – curse or gift?

“There is a Chinese curse which says “May he live in interesting times.” Like it or not, we live in interesting times. They are times of danger and uncertainty; but they are also the most creative of any time in the history of mankind.”Robert F. Kennedy
June, 1966

We believe that we should operate on facts and not fear.

At My Sewing Room, we are monitoring channels of factual information. We are doing our best to honour the requests of our health leaders, and to help you, our customer, through this very unusual time.

We are so lucky to have the advice of not one but two people who have worked in the field of infectious diseases. They recommend that we rely on facts, and the CDC web site seems to have the best info with easy-to-understand language.

We are following all recommended safety protocols to protect you and all of us.

We will keep you informed with all of our decisions as we need to make them.

Protect your friends, family and community

If you think that you may have contracted COVID-19, please call 811 and ask them for advice and next steps.

Currently, across Canada, China and globally, we have so many more recovered COVID-19 patients than we have had deaths.

We are a tough lot – we will come through this.

We are here for you

Our most-vulnerable staff members have taken a leave of absence, and those who wish to remain working are on a shortened schedule to help minimize potential exposure.

The remaining staff are at your disposal, willing and happily-awaiting your sewing and quilting needs.

We are using curbside delivery and our usual mail order. You should try it now, if you have not used it before.

We are also looking at a delivery service to offer next-day delivery. We will keep you posted.

Other thoughts

We are looking at ways to entertain and educate our customers without requiring a trip to the store.

Please watch for enews updates and follow us on Facebook or Instagram.

We wish you health and safety during this most unusual time.

Be kind to yourself and to those around you. This is a very stressful time for so many people and kindness is always in order.

Thank you.

Anne Dale – Owner
