My Sewing Room is thrilled to have Helen Godden in Calgary!
This is the last stop on her Canadian tour - let’s make it the best!
I am an Extreme Free-Motion-Machine-Quilter (EFMMQ).
I have been an artist all my life and came into quilting at age 38.
I am thrilled to have been awarded many times for my innovative quilts, both internationally and nationally and I am the Handi Quilter Ambassador for the Sweet Sixteen – my quilting machine, and I love my Sweetie!
I am so lucky to travel and teach and share my love of quilting far and wide. My goal is to “Educate and Inspire” all quilters as they launch into the world of possibilities that is Art Quilting.
Helen will be presenting two classes and a Trunk Show - sign up today!
Meet Foxy Loxy, Rooster, Tweetie and Hoot!
Choose one to trace onto fabric and stitch over the tracing with black thread. You will then learn loads of fun micro-quilting styles to fill the areas with.
Add some cream thread to give the background some texture.
Create your own Crack Pots design!
Using paper silhouettes, you will play around, arranging potential pots, vases and bottles. Add a few elements of magic and you will have your design. Trace and paint your pots using Lumiere fabric paints.
On day two, you will learn and practice a ton of new free-motion quilting styles to challenge you and stretch your quilting repertoire. Then apply those designs as you quilt your Crack Pots designs.
Meet Helen Godden and learn about this award-winning artist and her explorations as she shows you her collection of art quilts.
Call the store at 403-252-3711, or drop by in person, and sign up for these classes and trunk show. Seating is limited and we expect them to sell out quickly!
